About the Artist, David Hasler
I am both a craftsman and a fine artist working primarily within the French and Indian War era. My quillwork and wampum reflects the rich tradition of the original Seneca territory in which I live in western NY state. Several of my wampum pieces and quillwork items are currently used in living history museum programs at the Heinz Museum in PA., the welcome center at The Upper Canada Village in Ontario, while two PBS documentaries purchased wampum belts and personal effects from me. I just completed a large project with the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa outfitting an 1812 Ojibwa Warrior display. I have been an avid reenactor since 1976 and take great pride in representing our heritage through both my longhunter and woodland Indian items. View my website at: www.woodlandwampum.com
