|Southern Mountain Rifle by Colin MacCrea|
This rifle has an 42" A weight 45 caliber Rice barrel (swamped Southern Classic profile) with round bottom rifling. The stock wood is curly maple with a nice dark scraped finish. The Chamber's Late Ketland lock and Chamber's white lightning liner provide fast effective ignition. Double set trigger was made by R.E. Davis. All other parts are hand made except the screws. The tang goes from the barrel to the butt plate with screws through to the trigger plate for added strength. Chevron muzzle cap is pewter. Front sight has a double dovetail. Barrel keys or wedges allow for easy barrel removal if so desired. Lop-13 3/8", Cast off- 1/8", Drop- 3", and overall weight is 7.34 lbs

EACH MUSKET WAS SOLD BY SUBSCRIPTION AND THE NAME OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER IS ENGRAVED ON THE BUTT PLATE TANG. IN ADDITION, THE STOCK THUMB PLATE IS ENGRAVED WITH AN IMAGE OF THE 23RD REGIMENT CAP BADGE... OVERALL FINE CONDITION, WITH NO ISSUES. |bivins pennsylvania bicentennial rifle|
This is one of the set of only 200 rifles that were commissioned for the pennsylvania bicentennial. Two premier gunmakers gunmakers of the time accepted the contract to make these rifles.john bivins and jack haugh were to make 100 rifles each with bivins making the odd numbers and haugh making the even numbers. this is #100 make by jack haugh. All barrels were made in .50 cal. by bob paris, locks were all supplied by bud siler, who also assisted with the production of the hardware. monte mandarino and mark silver also assisted with the production. While the lock, stock, and barrel were the same, the carving and engraving was different on each one.this rifle is in new condition, never fired.

Matt Fennewald and Alex Fourman have donated an impeccable Otter hunting bag with Buffalo Powder to the auction. This is a fine native American style bag, nicely hand done and documented.
Dan Fruth has made a grand pre-rev war style southern rifle. This is agent study of an early rifle of the Shenandoah Valley and the CLF site has a fine photo essay.

This Early Virginia Longrifle is iron mounted with hand forged butt plate, trigger guard, side plate thimbles and iron captured lid patch box.
It is a 50 caliber, 42 inch Colerain round bottom rifling and stocked with premium curly maple and aqua fortes stain.
It has chambers round face lock and a “Davis” double set trigger.
It is adorned with coin silver and ivory and has a poured pewter chevron nose cap.

This rifle has a 34" Rice J.L.R 50 caliber swamped barrel with round bottom rifling and a 1-66 twist-low round count. The Chamber's deluxe large siler lock has been polished and tuned nicely, giving the single trigger a pull weight just under 1.5 lbs. The walnut stock has some simple but elegant carving with brass furniture. The lop is 13",2 1/2" drop, and about 3/16 cast off. Glenn McClain front sight has an ivory insert. Virginia style longrifle with curly maple stock, iron mounts and tasteful incised carving. The barrel is .54 cal. 42" swamped, "C" weight by Rice with flat bottom rifling. The lock is from Davis. Trigger pull length is 13 3/4". Drop at heel is 3 1/2". Weight is 9 lbs. The rear sight is located 11 1/2" from the breech. Ramrod is 3/8 " dia. New made and never fired. Offered is a 20 ga/.62 colonial style fowler with a 44" oct-to-round Colerain barrel with a false-Damascus finish. It has a Davis round-faced lock with a 13 3/4" LOP.
