Artisan Name | Donald R. Fulkerson |
---|---|
Artisan Category | Longrifles, pistols and fowlers |
Artisan Bio | Donald was born around rural Trenton, MO. in the 1920's. His first rifle was built in the early 1950's from a barrel found in a junk pile. Still an active builder in Newton, IA., walnut and brass are his preferred mediums. He often uses brass locks of his own manufacture as well as unique double entry thimbles. Copies of other maker's rifles have been built, but he prefers to build Midwestern style half-stock rifles. He often collaborates with Toad Hall Rifleshop on his creations.
