Artisan Name | Gary Rummell |
---|---|
Artisan Category | Longrifles, pistols and fowlers |
Artisan Bio | Gary makes his home nestled in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains of Western Pennsylvania, the same mountains traveled by such individuals as Washington, Fraser, Girty, and Boone. It is from here that Gary uses his skills and craftsmanship to create his works of art from the 18th century. When re-creating a traditional rifle or pistol, Gary spends a great deal of time researching and examining original weapons before actually creating it. What you end up with is an authentic and historically accurate reproduction of an original. With a contemporary piece Gary manages to preserve the lines and authenticity of the school being produced, but at the same time interjects his own individuality and creativity into the carving and engraving. The result is a one of a kind family heirloom surely to be admired by generations to come.
