Artisan Bio | In 1991, Matt graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.A. in Historic Preservation. While attending SCAD, Matt apprenticed under Master Cabinetmaker, Greg Gunther. After graduation, Matt returned home to Southwestern Pennsylvania to open his own woodshop. In the summer of 1999 Matt took a Windsor chair making class from Mike Dunbar. Matt now builds Windsor chairs along with other 18th century reproduction furnishings. Matt has built chairs for several museums including: Friendship Hill (Albert Gallatin's residence) , Gunston Hall (George Mason's residence), Fort Frederick and the Distillery at Mount Vernon.
