Artisan Bio | K L Shelton is "Mister Muzzleloader" in Arizona. Ken learned to build Kentucky rifles in of all places "Kentucky". He was taught by Taylor Ellington a gun smith of some renown in Eastern Kentucky. Mr Ellington produced beautiful rifles until his demise at the age of 92 in his home town of Morehead, Kentucky. K L Shelton has been building "Kentuckies" for over thirty years, carrying on the the tradition of producing authentic rifles in his adopted home of Tucson, Arizona. He has been featured on television's CBS channel 13 in Tucson and given various seminars on muzzleloading subjects. Ken has written over twenty articles for the Safari Times and SAFARI magazine. The Times and SAFARI magazine have a distribution of more than seventy countries thoughout the world. Ken has also been featured in the last two additions of THE COMPLETE BLACKPOWDER HANDBOOK by Sam Fadala. K L Shelton rifles are in demand, he produces only three or four rifles each year and normally carries a one to two year back log.
