Artisan Bio | Getting close to retirement and wanted to learn a craft. Accumulated the tools needed to build my Smithy and was fortunate to have a friend introduce me to The House Brother's. Chris Hardesty took me to Hershel's house during the longrifle seminar and that September Hershel, Frank and John shared how to create a Woodbury Style knife. Sam Stoner, a Mennonite knife smith, has helped me by answering questions and demonstrating techniques that have helped a lot. Muzzleloader Magazine described what I make, "Exquisite Hand-Forged Frontier Knives". My knives are created using a coal forge with a hand crank blower and antique anvils. Hershel created a Makers Mark [VC] and a cross I forge stamp on most of my work. I have created a variety of stamps you may find in my steel or leather work. I enjoy creating and really like learning from the artists that are A PART OF the CLA...THANK YOU! |
