Artisan Bio | My passion for building Kentucky rifles was developed under the tutelage of a Lancaster school builder Ken Shelton. For three years I worked in his gun shop learning how traditional rifles were made. Since 2016 I have made two rifles or pistols a year, keeping my work honest to that produced during the revolutionary war. Over the years I have increased my relief carving and metal engraving skills; both done by hand. I keep my furniture to the specific period around 1776, and have sold every rifle to either a collector or a hunter. My most ambitious build was an over-under double flintlock, and I am proud of my rifles built on contract to the buyers specifications. As a retired person, I take my time building these rifles and do not neglect increasing my skills by working in a fully stocked community wood shop. I reside in Tucson Arizona and contribute to my city by reaching out to children through astronomy and cycling. My aim is to continue to build rifles and look for the best in every lock, stock, and barrel. |
