Roger " Steve" Ricker Born and raised in Greene county Tennessee, This artisan of Scottish and Catawba decent , Is a master Craftsman with a love and passion for early American history. Steve has been creating historically correct and usable art for over thirty years. Steve caters to many fine art galleries throughout the nation and over seas. Steve is involved in living history events, including Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park & Museum, Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area & The Museum of the Cherokee. Steve has diligently researched the technique and materials used by Native peoples and early frontiersman. Including the weaponry , hide tanning for clothes and moccassins, camp fire cooking, shelter building and primitive survival skills. Steve has completed several canoe treks on the beautiful Rock Castle river in Kentucky. He has been featured in magazines such as: On The Trail. Steve was the consultant and provided many props for Kaylon Production Company of the upcoming film , Mandie and the Secret Tunnel. Steve's dedication , passion and talent has allowed him to create his beautiful art. I had the privilege to walk the over mountain victory trail this year 2008 .
