Up for purchase is an original Third model Brown Bess. It is a reconversion. Side plate supplied by Reeves Goehring as mentioned in Goldstein and Mowbray’s book. The barrel is 38″ and unmarked. Ram rod is 35″ Lock does not release with trigger. No safety notch. Tumbler screw is wrong. Forward lock screw does not grab the lock. Nice stock and butt plate markings.
