Late 18th c. English pistol with blunderbuss barrel, 6 1/2″ in length and with a bore measuring just over 1 inch at the muzzle. Barrel is engraved with “London” on the top flat and carries Tower private proof marks with maker’s mark “WI”. Lock appears to be marked as “JONES”, but is partly illegible. Engraved brass hardware. Lock is mechanically good. Though it is of the period, the cock appears to be a replacement. Stock is solid, with wear and dings, and handling marks. A great example of a less common style of the classic Georgian pistol. I will have this pistol at the upcoming Lexington show for those wanting a closer look.
