| Artisan Bio | For nearly 20 years Robert made Early American Longrifles for historical reenactors, hunters and competition shooters. Following in the tradition of many 18th century gunmakers, he bought the best barrels and locks available but hand made all other parts, including the hand forged iron mounts. His work has been featured in several publications including "MuzzleLoader" magazine. Now Darrall spends his time building historical furniture. His work is highly influenced by the Back Country craftsmen who worked in Kentucky and Tennessee during the late 18th and early 19th century. His work ranges from simple painted country pieces to the more ornate Federal style with stinging and inlay, all made of solid cherry or walnut. Darrall operates a full time shop in Owensboro, Kentucky, and can be reached by phone any time. Visits to the shop are by appointment only.
