Artisan Bio | Ken Scott was born in West Frankfort, Illinois. He majored in commercial art at Southern Illinois University and has worked in radio broadcast, T.V. news as a writer/reporter/video photographer, commercial art and advertising. Ken and his wife, Virginia, have owned Ken Scott & Co., Inc., advertising, marketing & design since 1983. Ken became interested in muzzleloading in 1973. He built a Kentucky rifle in 1974 and began leatherwork, making pouches and accoutrements for himself, which then led to making them for blanket prizes, gifts and then for sale. He started selling antiqued leather-covered journals with handlettering and water color illustration in the early 1990 |
