Artisan Name | Bill Wright |
---|---|
Artisan Category | Quillwork |
Artisan Bio | Many years ago Bill started out making Plains Indian beaded bags and knife sheaths. Over the years he attended many rendezvous and trade fairs in the Midwest. Around 2002, his interests turned more towards the Eastern influence and he started doing quillwork. Attending a couple of CLA annual shows further sparked Bill's desire to craft pieces of the 1700's and 1800's that were used and carried by the Woodland Indians and long hunters. Through researching this particular time period and with an obvious attention to detail, he takes great pride in every piece he produces. The finished product has a look and patina to give it a primitive look. Bill's goal when creating a piece is to make it look authentic, used, and worn ......in other words, like a piece from the past. |
